In its Event Management activities, the OST regularly organizes events designed specifically for the target group of Austrian scientists in North America.

OST Scientist Network events are designed to initiate and strengthen cooperation within the OST Scientist Network, to offer a platform for personal information exchange and discussion, and to initiate the discussion of certain topics as important issues in research and technology policy.

Overview of 2009 OST Scientist Network events:

• January 27 through February 9, 2009
  “In Search of Memory” Tour – USA 2009
  After the release of “In Search of Memory" in Vienna, Austria, in May 2008, Nobel Prize winner Eric Kandel and director/producer Petra Seeger were touring the United States with the 95-minute documentary film. “In Search of Memory” is based on Dr. Kandel’s 2006 autobiography, which weaves together the neuroscientist’s research career with his personal biography. The Office of Science & Technology (OST), in cooperation with FilmForm Köln, together with its partner institutions, organized the film screening, Q&A Sessions and book signings with stops in Washington (DC), New York (NY), Boston (MA), Los Angeles (CA), and San Francisco (CA).
