David L. Wheeler is the managing editor, international, for the Chronicle of Higher Education.

Although for many years his area of specialty was biomedical research, he has written on topics ranging from poetry to quantum physics. He has served as president of the DC Science Writers’ Association and has won numerous awards. In the service of The Chronicle, he has attended academic conferences and visited campuses in at least 20 countries and made presentations around the world, including at meetings in Beijing, Liverpool, and Madrid.

Wheeler holds a master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University and was awarded a Vannevar Bush Fellowship in science journalism at MIT.
