Obama announces outlines for the FY2010 budget.
It was in February of this year that President Barack Obama sent the message that his proposed budget - a $3.6 trillion spending plan delivered to Congress - would "usher in a new era of responsibility" in America and will make "long overdue investments in priorities - like clean energy, education, health care, and a new infrastructure..." Just last month, the White House issued a Statement of Administration Policy regarding H.R. 2847, the Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2010 (also known as Commerce, Justice, Science and Related Agencies - CJS), just after it passed the House by a vote of 259-to-157. Although the administration expressed strong support of the passage of the bill, they also expressed concern over the reductions from the President's original request.
