Thomas Wirthensohn is a Technical Consultant in the field of Energy and Climate at the Kommunalkredit Public Consulting in Vienna.

During his Ph.D. studies, he was working on wastewater treatment and the purification of heavily polluted liquids, such as anaerobic digester effluent and gaswork site groundwater. Since these pollutions were caused by gaseous energy carriers, his second topic was energy issues, focusing especially on renewables.

Wirthensohn did his studies at the BOKU University in Vienna, Austria, but also conducted research abroad at the Griffith University in Brisbane, Australia, the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, and the Institute of Chemical Technology in Prague, Czech Republic.
