Internationalization of Research and Graduate Studies and its Implications in the Transatlantic Context bridges vol. 19, October 2008 / Noteworthy Information In today's globalized economy, science careers are becoming increasingly international and the marketplace for science and technology talents stretches beyond national boundaries. Universities and research institutes worldwide are addressing these developments by setting up exchange programs, double and/or joint degrees, as well as foreign campuses. Several EU/US cooperation schemes are already promoting the training and mobility of researchers and are likely to be developed further in the future. The EU/US Research and Education Workshop, to be held in Atlanta, Georgia, November 17-18, will address issues relating to the internationalization of research and higher education.
