With US presidential elections coming up soon, we have decided to devote this issue’s Bills in Brief section to the candidates’ positions on science and technology policies.

Science and technology issues have not been very high on the candidates’ agendas in this campaign. However, John McCain and Barack Obama have recently answered 14 questions on science policy issues, selected from 3,400 questions submitted by scientists across the United States.
