bridges vol. 16, December 2007 / Noteworthy Information In 1862 Ignaz L. Lieben instituted the award bearing his name [see also bridges article on the Lieben Prize]. He intended it to be awarded in perpetuity by the Imperial Academy of Science, the predecessor of the Austrian Academy of Sciences (AAS). It was, however, terminated by the National Socialists in 1938. The Ignaz L. Lieben Award has now been re-established by Drs. Isabel and Alfred Bader. Access to the full article is free, but requires you to register. Registration is simple and quick – all we need is your name and a valid e-mail address. We appreciate your interest in bridges. |
