Paul Guinnessy is the senior online editor for Physics Today magazine, based in College Park, Maryland, where he writes on science policy issues regarding research, space, the environment, nuclear energy and weapons issues.

He has written for the Sunday Times, The Independent, The Economist, Physics World and New Scientist magazine.

Originally from the UK, he has a degree in astrophysics from Queen Mary College, the University of London, where he also spent three years working in the environmental science department before moving into journalism.
