Schmid is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies in Monterey, CA during the academic year 2007/2008. She remains an Affiliate of the Center for International Security and Cooperation, Stanford University, where she spent the past two years as a Social Science Research Associate. She is working on a book project (tentative title: Producing Power: the Construction of a Civilian Nuclear Industry in the Soviet Union) that won the 2006 Brooke Hindle Postdoctoral Award from the Society for the History of Technology. Schmid received her Ph.D. in Science & Technology Studies from Cornell University in 2005. Contributions:
