Alexander Unkart is a member of the Austrian Federal Ministry for Transport, Innovation and Technology (BMVIT). He has been with the Ministry since early 2003, where he works for the unit responsible for innovation. Unkart is responsible for relations and cooperations in the technology and science field-especially with non-EU countries- with a special focus on China.
Prior to joining the BMVIT, he was a controller at the Austrian Patent Office. In 2001, Unkart worked at the EU Representation Office of Carinthia in Brussels, Belgium. From September 2004 through August 2005, he was a Senior Visiting Expert at the Office of Science and Technology (OST) in Washington, D.C.
Unkart holds a Master's Degree in Law from the University of Vienna, Austria and is a Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) assistant instructor for scuba diving.
