MBA and MSc Programs are more popular than ever. Long before the general hype about postgraduate studies emerged, the Vienna University of Technology was already developing and offering their own programs. For example, the university's postgraduate real estate program has been in place for almost 20 years. At first, only certification programs were offered, but these were adjusted to the international academic degrees in the late '90s, and then responded to the 2002 change in the academic law, which permitted universities to offer continuing education courses.

The Vienna Graduate School of Finance (VGSF) is a "center of excellence in finance," located in Vienna, Austria. The VGSF was founded in 2005 by three leading Austrian academic institutions - the Institute for Advanced Studies Vienna, the University of Vienna, and the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration - and is supported by the Austrian Science Fund (FWF).
The Vienna Graduate School of Finance sees itself as an institution that encourages and promotes research in the field of finance and provides an excellent and highly competitive PhD program. The school offers an international research environment to students from around the world. The VGSF is specialized in all major fields of finance including asset pricing, corporate finance, financial institutions, risk management, and market microstructure.
